Golf: Matsuyama 4 strokes back at U.S. Open

Hideki Matsuyama fired a 1-under-par 69 in the first round of the U.S. Open Thursday to move into a share of sixth place in the second major of the year.
Matsuyama, who tied for 10th in his debut at the U.S. Open last year, rolled in four birdies against three bogeys at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina.
